Scams increasingly affect seniors, families, churches, and communities. A phone call, text, email, or convincing story can create fear and confusion, pressuring someone to share personal information or make a financial decision too quickly. We believe education is one of our best defenses.
As community advocates and educators, Mark and Jeanette, along with their board, bring together reliable information and practical resources on issues that affect the people we serve. We are not law-enforcement officers, bankers, or cybersecurity experts; however, our role is to research, learn, and help make important information understandable, useful, and accessible.

Meet Mark & Jeanette Wheeler
Mark and Jeanette Wheeler bring together decades of leadership, ministry, professional experience, and a shared commitment to serving people and strengthening their community.
Mark Wheeler is an attorney, pastor, business owner, leader, and photographer who serves at Overcomers Covenant Church in Auburn, WA. His legal and business background has given him valuable insight into the importance of asking questions, protecting personal information, recognizing questionable practices, and making informed decisions. His pastoral leadership reflects his commitment to helping people navigate life with wisdom, dignity, and confidence.
Jeanette Wheeler is also business-minded, a pastor and community leader, with a vision for entrepreneurship and a passion for education and empowerment. She is the visionary behind Pearl Talk, an initiative created to encourage and equip young women on their way to becoming great women, and also serves through Crown Financial Ministries classes, helping others understand biblical principles of financial stewardship. Her ministry and community work reflect a heart for strengthening individuals across generations.
Together, Mark and Jeanette are co-founders of the MARJEA Foundation, whose mission is “Helping Seniors. Inspiring Youth. Strengthening Communities.” Concerned about the growing number of scams targeting seniors, they made Scam Awareness & Prevention an important part of MARJEA’s senior advocacy work.
Through these events, Mark and Jeanette want seniors and their families to know one important truth: being informed is one of your best defenses. Their goal is to provide practical information that helps people recognize warning signs, slow down before responding, protect their personal and financial information, and know where to turn when something doesn’t seem right.
